1. Choose the passive form: “Ravi writes the report.”

The passive of a simple present sentence uses “is/are” plus the past participle, so “is written” is correct. The object “the report” moves to the front.

2. Fill in the blank: “Tea ___ grown in Assam.”

“Is” is correct because “tea” is singular and the sentence is a general present fact. Passive present uses “is” plus the past participle “grown”.

3. Choose the correct passive of: “The chef cooked a delicious meal.”

The past simple passive uses “was/were” plus the past participle, so “was cooked” is correct. “A delicious meal” is singular, so we use “was”.

4. Fill in the blank: “The new bridge ___ built last year.”

“Was” is correct because the action happened in the past and “bridge” is singular. Past passive needs “was” plus “built”.

5. Which is the correct passive? “Farmers grow rice in Punjab.”

Present passive uses “is” plus the past participle “grown”, so “is grown” is right. The by-agent “by farmers” tells us who does the action.

6. Choose the correct passive with a future form: “The company will launch a new app.”

Future passive uses “will be” plus the past participle, so “will be launched” is correct. The base verb never follows “will be” in the passive.

7. Fill in the blank (present continuous passive): “The road ___ repaired right now.”

“Is being” is correct because the action is happening now, which needs the present continuous passive. It is formed with “is being” plus the past participle.

8. Identify the error: “The letters was posted yesterday.”

“Letters” is plural, so the verb must be “were”, not “was”. Passive verbs still agree with the subject in number.

9. Choose the correct present perfect passive: “Someone has stolen my bag.”

Present perfect passive uses “has/have been” plus the past participle, so “has been stolen” is correct. We often drop “by someone” when the doer is unknown.

10. When is the passive voice most natural? “___”

The passive is natural when the doer is unknown or unimportant, as with a theft. “My wallet was stolen” keeps the focus on the wallet, not the thief.

11. Which passive sentence correctly keeps the by-agent because it is important?

We keep the by-agent when the doer carries important information, as “by Vyasa” does here. It tells us who created the text, so it should stay.

12. Choose the correct passive of a question: “Did they invite Anjali?”

The past passive question uses “Was/Were” plus subject plus past participle, so “Was Anjali invited?” is correct. The word order changes but the tense stays past.

13. Fill in the blank (modal passive): “The homework must ___ by tomorrow.”

A modal passive uses the modal plus “be” plus the past participle, so “must be submitted” is correct. The base “be” always follows the modal.

14. Find the error: “The cake were eaten by the children.”

“Cake” is singular, so the verb should be “was”, not “were”. The passive verb agrees with the singular subject.

15. Transform to passive: “People speak Hindi and Tamil in many homes.” Best answer:

Present passive with a plural subject uses “are” plus the past participle, so “are spoken” is correct. We often drop “by people” because the doer is general and obvious.
